




Mobile Asset Management with clavisMobile
for the VHV Insurance
Located in Hannover , VHV is one of the largest insurance companies in Germany . Their main focus is construction, car and liability insurances for private and commercial customers.
The Starting Situation
To record their financial assets, VHV regularly organises inventory campaigns. Up to now data were collected manually and subsequently entered into the SAP system. The goal was to redesign this procedure with help of a principally automated solution and thus make it more efficient and cost effective.
The Implementation
The designed application should meet the following requirements:
It was planned to introduce mobile terminals as input devices. In the input process bar code based equipment data had to be assigned to technical locations. Synchronously the data had to be assigned to persons and cost centres.
clavis supported VHV in a first step with the selection of mobile terminals. Because of the used bar code format and the necessary compatibility to the deployed readers, SYMBOL devices with attached scanners were chosen. Subsequently clavis supplied the print programs to issue all relevant bar codes. Thus the insurance is enabled to further on print all labels on its own. By the introduction of suitable number ranges the risk of mistakes is definitely prevented.
The data entered via mobile devices are processed by the clavisMobile cockpit into the customer’s SAP system. The cockpit supplies error logs and allows for post processing of scanned data. Definitely entered data are posted automatically via BAPI and Call Transaction into the equipment master file of the SAP system. Additionally, filter rules provide further control options.
The Effect
By the implementation of clavisMobile and the customisation of the system according to their specific business processes, the VHV has tapped significant optimisation potentials. Manual entry procedures have been minimised but nevertheless the application offers a high level of flexibility.
